Swiss Army Man writers/directors Dan Kwan and Daniel Scheinert are on the podcast!
We discuss the inspirations behind this unlikely film, working with Daniel Radcliffe and Paul Dano on the characters, and how they built a meaningful film out of a fart joke.
Swiss Army Man stars Paul Dano (Love & Mercy, There Will Be Blood) as Hank, a man trapped on a deserted island, who while trying to hang himself discovers Manny, a gassy dead body lying on the shore, played by Daniel Radcliffe (the Harry Potter series, The Woman in Black). Hank uses the propulsion of Manny’s undead farts to ride him to safety across the water, which launches the unlikely duo on a surreal adventure, while posing some big questions about friendship, loneliness, love, and yes, farts.
