Tortoise
Theatre Fairmount
March 13, 2016
Tortoise shows have become a rare commodity over the past few years, making last night’s sold-out show at Theatre Fairmount an exciting return to town for the Chicago multi-instrumentalists. With the bulk of the setlist culled from their recent LP, The Catastrophist (Thrill Jockey), the band had the sizeable crowd in their moody, synthy thrall from note one, constantly shifting instruments between songs like mad scientists swapping work stations.
