Bad Feeling Magazine Podcast # 30 with filmmaker Gaspar Noé (Love, Irreversible)

Director Gaspar Noé (Irreversible, Enter the Void) has always been a provocateur, but his latest work, Love, is easily causing the most controversy of his career.

The sexually-explicit 3D drama focuses on Murphy (Karl Glusman), an American living in Paris and his caustic relationship with his artist girlfriend Electra (Aomi Muyock), and their neighbour (Klara Kristin).

Apart from the extended graphic sex scenes, Love is actually Noé’s most accessible film to date, an emotional look at how sex unifies and divides a young couple.

We spoke with Noé before the film’s Montreal premiere at the Festival du Nouveau Cinéma to discuss the inspirations behind the film, critics, and his attempt to capture meaningful sex on film.

Listen to the interview with Noé here, or via the embedded media player at the top of the page. You can also find our interview with director Atom Egoyan (Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter) from this year’s FNC festival here.

Love opens at Cinema du Parc on November 27. The film is also available on a number of VOD services, including Amazon Video and Vimeo.
