Following an all too-long summer hiatus, Montreal’s monthly comedy showcase The Brunch Club is officially back in business tonight. With a mission to re-invigorate Montreal’s comedy scene by bringing established comedians to town outside of Just for Laughs’ summer months, The Brunch Club’s current season kicks off tonight with Late Night with Seth Meyers writer Michelle Wolf performing two sets at Comedyworks.
Wolf is no stranger to Montreal – she was included in Just for Laughs’ New Faces of Comedy line-up in 2014, and her uproarious set landed her a last minute slot on Seth Rogen’s massive charity gala show, alongside Hannibal Buress, Jim Norton and PK Subban.
Just five years after taking up comedy, Wolf already has a uniquely confident voice, whether riffing on Kim Kardashian’s nudes or the JFK assassination.
Not ones to rest on their collective comedic laurels, The Brunch Club have already announced November’s guest – Real Husbands of Hollywood star James Davis will take over Comedyworks on November 20th and 21st.
If you missed them earlier, be sure to check out our podcasts with Brunch Club alums Mark Little and Mike Lawrence here.
Michelle Wolf performs at Comedyworks (1238 Rue Bishop) October 24th at 8:00 and 10:00 pm. Tickets are $15. Brunch Club season passes are also available, which offer admission to eight shows, as well as the weekly Arts & Laughs events. For tickets and more info, visit brunchclubmtl.com.
