Earl Sweatshirt
Club Soda
August 15, 2015
Four months after his show at Corona Theatre was postponed at the 11th hour, Earl Sweatshirt, Odd Future collective’s most shrouded member, finally took to the stage at Club Soda last night. Earlier in the day, his afternoon appearance at the EDM-heavy ÎleSoniq festival was cancelled, leading many to speculate about whether this make up show was also on the rocks.
Fortunately, Earl and crew, including Queens MC Remy Banks, did indeed make the show, which apparently was a bit of a free-flowing evening, with Earl DJing, opening up the stage to his entourage for much of the night, and only performing a handful of his own tracks throughout the set.
There are some pretty harsh reviews on the show’s Facebook event page, including one mentioning the show was “by far one of the worst “performances” I’ve ever seen.” Ouch. Were you there? Let us know what you thought of the show in the comments below.
