Rockfest 2015
Montebello, Quebec
June 19, 2015
Rockfest once again took over the sleepy town of Montebello, Quebec for three days and nights of metal, punk, hardcore, ska, and … Snoop Dogg. Tens of thousands of fans descended into the scenic Quebec town from June 18-20 to catch over 100 bands, including Linkin Park, System of a Down, Rancid, Pixies, Refused, and the previously-mentioned Snoop Dogg, among dozens of others.
Thankfully, there were no signs of any of the logistical snafus that plagued earlier editions of the fest; traffic was manageable, lines for food and port-o-potties seemed to move quickly, and bands kept to their scheduled times.
Saturday had an incredibly stacked lineup, which included Rancid performing 1995’s …and Out Come the Wolves in full, along with an incendiary set by Refused, during which frontman Dennis Lyxzen called out the festival’s lack of female performers. Hopefully we’ll see a more inclusive lineup (on all festivals) next year.
Below you can check out our photographer Johan Boutin’s photos of the Saturday sets from the festival, including System of a Down, Slayer, Rancid, Rob Zombie, Pixies, and many more. Photos of the Friday shows are here. Follow us on instagram for even more photos from the weekend.
