Former My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero released Stomachaches (Staple Records), his solo debut as ‘FrnkIero andthe Cellabration‘ late last year, and his tour in support of that record brought him to Montreal’s Bar le Ritz on February 24th, along with support from The Homeless Gospel Choir and Modern Chemistry.
Iero delivered an intense set of the angst-filled tracks from his solo debut to a predominately young crowd of My Chemical Romance devotees. We recently spoke to Iero about the painful road that led to Stomachaches, his wariness of solo projects, and the lost art of the mix tape. You can read the entire interview here.
Pennsylvania’s The Homeless Gospel Choir, Derek Zanetti’s one-man acoustic band, offered up a touching set of personal and political songs that held the crowd in thrall throughout his opening set. All profits from his merch sales were going towards a Pittsburgh non-profit supporting victims of rape, so be sure to pick something up if you catch an upcoming show on this tour.
