Savages are known for being a great live act, but something has truly taken ahold of the band on their current tour behind their sophomore LP, Adore Life. The band are now an absolute force on stage, adding an almost unbearable level of intensity to their dark post-punk sound.

Dressed all in black and illuminated by a series of powerful strobe lights, the band were the focus point the entire show, with singer Camille Berthomier locked into a Henry Rollins-like power stance for most of the night. The crowd responded in kind, showing the band the kind of adoration usually reserved for the arena-rock set. That connection only deepened when Berthomier walked out onto the crowd during “Hit Me,” performing the rest of the frantic track while bolstered atop the crowd before some rowdy crowd surfing finally brought her back to the stage (see fan-shot video of that below).

The band’s entire 90-minute set seemed to hinge on the verge of total chaos, but the four members of Savages always appeared to be in complete control, building up the intensity level throughout before culminating with the epic 10-minute blowout of “Fuckers.”
